My work...
The majority of my work is centered on expressing my emotions through whatever medium I may be working in. I am not an artist that deals with only one form, I like utilizing more than one, as each form of art allows me to express myself in different ways.
General periods of art seem to have more of an influence on me than one particular artist, but there are several artists that have given me inspiration. J.M.W. Turner and Jackson Pollock both have given me ideas to work from. Turner looked to have an expressive style before it was accepted, which I greatly admire. Pollock was rebellious in his art and life. I've been told the same about myself.
As far as photography is concerned, I look at the increasingly amount of digital replacement, and the disappearing of darkroom techniques, and it gives me reason to be one of the people to keep the process alive. Even as such I seem to be on the outer fringe of how I do work with this. My favorite artist in this medium is Julia Margaret Cameron. And as of late I have discovered the art work of James Pryor, and find his work to be extremely exciting.
